The net was developed to interact with others. Share information and meet people. But the internet can be an unsafe place for some, a lot of predators around. Chat rooms have been up for as long as I can remember. Adult chat rooms, teen chat rooms and chat rooms with adults and teens in it.

When chatting online it is very important to be as safe as you can. If you are chatting in a chat room then you have the risk of everyone in that room to see what you are chatting. Even if chatting with a single person, sharing your information is very risky and you shouldn’t do it in any type of chat room.

Some tips on chat room safety are to never share information with anyone. Know that not everyone tells the truth, you could be chatting with a 50 year old but he tells you he is only 15. If you feel that someone is harrasing you or lieing about something then make sure to report that person. And most importantly, never trust anyone online.

A chat room allows users to virtually talk with other users or groups around the globe. Chat rooms offer many ways of communicating with others. Text chat which is pretty much just like any other messenger such as msn, icq, aim or ysm, but allows you to talk/chat with a whole group of people  or single persons withing that chat room. Other popular chats are cam and voice chat which allows users to see and hear each other while chatting. With the cam and voice chat you can also chat with a group of people at the same chat which is a pretty neat feature.
